Is Tinnitus Dangerous?

by Roel van Gorkum
| March 22, 2023

Tinnitus is usually not dangerous. There are rare diseases such as otosclerosis, bridge angle tumor, Menière’s disease that can cause it. High blood pressure and side effects of medicines can also start tinnitus.

Consult your doctor

That is why it is very important that you have yourself checked by your GP and ENT doctor to rule out these diseases.

Unfortunately, your brain does think that tinnitus is dangerous. This activates your stress response (your fight and flight response). This makes your tinnitus worse because you pay more attention to it. It is very difficult to get out of here.

A solution

I have developed a course that helps you get out of that vicious circle through cognitive behavioral therapy, tinnitus retraining therapy and mindfulness.

You can watch the first 5 lessons for free.

Good luck and success!
