What is Still Tinnitus?

An online tinnitus treatment supported by science.

Still Tinnitus, meaning ‘to calm or quiet tinnitus’, is a scientifically validated, fully online, tinnitus treatment program that combines the four most-used tinnitus therapies:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
  • Device-free Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT)

Still Tinnitus is a comprehensive, self-paced online program without waitlists, travel, group therapy or the need to purchase ear-level noise generators. It’s reviewed and endorsed by healthcare professionals and developed over the past 6+ years by someone with tinnitus who truly understands your specific challenges.

Key Benefits

A renewed sense of hope. No more social isolation.

For many people, tinnitus affects the same parts of daily life. Sleep becomes problematic, focusing is hard, frustration builds, and the mind stays locked in a struggle with the sound. The Still Tinnitus program is structured to reduce that struggle and provide the following benefits:

Person lying in bed with eyes closed, illustrating sleep difficulties commonly associated with tinnitus and the importance of sleep-focused management strategies in tinnitus treatment.

Restored Sleep

Still Tinnitus improves sleep quality and lowers stress, anxiety, and depressive thinking related to tinnitus.

Older woman sitting on a couch reading a book, representing educational tinnitus-related material or self-help reading about managing tinnitus symptoms and understanding evidence-based approaches.

Sit In Silence

You’ll learn all the tools needed to reduce tinnitus distress so you can stop running from the ringing and improve overall quality of life.

Course Content

Get your life back from tinnitus in just 10 minutes a day.

It is recommended to spend around 10 minutes a day, or 1 hour a week on the course. At this pace it will take around 8 weeks to learn and practice the tools and skills used to support tinnitus habituation. As you keep using the techniques and guidance from the course in everyday life, most people find the tinnitus continues to improve over time.

Real World Validated Results

Clinically relevant improvement in up to 90.9% of participants.

Independent researchers at the University of Amsterdam (ACTA) evaluated changes in tinnitus among 122 Still Tinnitus course participants using the Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI). The study was peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine*.

Study results

  • Of the patients with tinnitus duration up to 3 months, 90.9% showed a statistically significant improvement, with an average 37.6-point reduction on the TFI scale in 6 months (from 63.1 to 25.5 points).
  • Across all participants, 74.6% achieved a clinically meaningful improvement with an average 27.2-point reduction (from 59.2 to 32.1 points) within the first 6 months
  • On average, patients moved from the TFI category ‘big problem’ to ‘small problem’ within the first 6 months.

In practical terms, these changes reflect a substantial reduction in tinnitus-related distress and a meaningful improvement in quality of life over a relatively short period of time.

I woke up one night with a high beep and I became really worried and unable to sleep. I spiralled into a very negative way of thinking and started having severe panic attacks. My GP basically told me to get used to it. Reading things online only made me more desperate, until the Still Tinnitus course caught my attention because it was evidence based on CBT and ACT. I saw a review from my colleague who also did the course and he convinced me to try it. The course taught me that the tinnitus itself isn’t the problem. By doing the exercises, I made a full recovery in 4 months. My tinnitus was a 9.5 and now a 0.5 and I am back at work.

Highly recommended, and all without pills or other gadgets.

I have significant hearing loss and for years had a slight ringing in my right ear that didn’t really bother me. It became increasingly louder, and during a vacation, it suddenly became so loud that I couldn’t sleep and was bothered by it all day. I personally believe that the poor hearing, combined with a very long period of stress, led to my tinnitus. It’s gradually improving now, and I can sleep better, although it remains a challenge. Thanks to the clear explanations in the course, I’m no longer as anxious and have gained better insight into the cause. The fact that I can actively work on it myself is very comforting and a very positive experience. I took stock of my life and addressed several issues. This immediately provided relief and gave me confidence that things will improve for me too. I recommend this course to everyone. By the way, I quickly saw my ENT doctor and GP take note of it when I mentioned it (waiting lists at audiology centers can easily reach three months).

I took this course to focus on something that would be helpful and to learn how to best manage my tinnitus. I developed tinnitus due to a stressful period at work, which left me feeling overwhelmed. My mental resilience was therefore very low. After taking the course, I now have several tools in my “toolbox” and realize that I hold the key to better managing the symptoms I experience due to my tinnitus. I’m not there yet; I’ve had tinnitus for a relatively short time, and I realize I still have a long way to go. Finding this course by Roel on Google immediately gave me hope and a ray of hope when I was deeply distressed. I highly recommend the course; it allows you to regain control over your tinnitus. Thank you, Roel, for all your work!

My tinnitus score at the start of the course was ‘a significant problem’ and after more than two months the score is now ‘a minor problem’. The conversations with Roel are also very nice. He is an expert by experience and that helps me enormously.

I started the course because I kept having a ringing in my ears after a concert. During that period I also had a lot of mental stress. My tinnitus was caused (as I now know from the course) by a combination of stress and a bit of hearing damage and then the fear that it would not go away. My tinnitus score at the start of the course was ‘a significant problem’ and after more than two months the score is now ‘a minor problem’. Sometimes it is still a bit erratic, but because it takes 6-18 months to get used to it, I expect it to get even better and more stable. Now, I feel happy and do a lot of fun things again. I have also learned things that I can apply more broadly to my life. I definitely recommend the course! The conversations with Roel are also very nice. He is an expert by experience and you notice that and that helps me enormously.

I started this course in January 2025 because I was experiencing tinnitus. After some online research, I came across it. Previously, I lived in fear and didn’t really know how to deal with my symptoms. By taking the course and gaining more knowledge, I slowly began to experience more acceptance and noticed increasing progress. While I used to rate my tinnitus as a 9, it has now dropped to a 0 or 1. After about six months, my symptoms have significantly reduced. I found the course extremely valuable and would definitely recommend it to anyone who lives in fear due to tinnitus.

Roel has helped me tremendously with his course. I was really at a point of panic and feeling desperate and not knowing how to deal with my tinnitus. Already after the first few classes, I could sleep calmly, shift my mindset and understand what was going on in my head and brain. It’s been a few weeks now that I have finished the course and the tinnitus is not affecting my life at all anymore. I really don’t know how I would have found my peace with his beautiful guidance. Highly recommend this for anyone who has tinnitus, just to understand and comprehend what it is and what is happening in your head and experience.

There is no guarantee but when all that comes back together into you life, you can manage tinnitus better, you will habituate, and eventually you will have your tinnitus reduced and often times if it’s still there, it’s much more quiet and will not bother you at all.

I suffered from tinnitus and already went to several ENT and audiologist for examination. Unfortunately as per now, there is still no medical intervention to cure tinnitus directly. I searched on google and youtube a lot and I was lucky to find Still Tinnitus on youtube. I was stunned and immediately I watch the Masterclass by Roel. I fixed a video call with Roel, he walked me through everything with regards to Still Tinnitus method. I signed up for the standard course, and I must say that I am very happy with the course structure. Everything is explained in detailed, based on evidence. Thank God I found and signed up The Still Tinnitus Course. I would recommend for those who seek self online learning to manage tinnitus, do not hesitate to follow the program. You will not regret it! It’s a huge relief. When you understand and apply the Still Tinnitus method in your daily life, you will have your precious life back, your stress reduced, you improve your sleep. There is no guarantee but when all that comes back together into you life, you can manage tinnitus better, you will habituate, and eventually you will have your tinnitus reduced and often times if it’s still there, it’s much more quiet and will not bother you at all.

I’m 68 years old and have had tinnitus for 12 years. Six months ago, the sound became much more intense, and I became increasingly anxious. Fortunately, I decided to take this course. Roel, as someone with experience, guides you through the world of tinnitus in a very pleasant way. You’re given tools to learn how to cope with it, using various therapies. I loved taking the course online; you can set your own pace. The instructional videos are very professional but also very clear. Completing the exercises in the workbook helped me retain the theory even more. The meditation exercises also contributed significantly to my well-being during the course. I was very skeptical about them, but I think they’re fantastic, and they definitely help me manage my tinnitus. I finished the course today, and in the past few weeks, I’ve had several days where I haven’t thought about my tinnitus at all. Yes, I’m super excited about this course and expect to report here soon that my tinnitus is definitely still there, but its impact on my life has become almost nonexistent. Roel, you’re the best!!!

I’ve had tinnitus for over four years. I came across Roel’s course. And it worked. I’ve started running again, which I’d given up for a while because of my tinnitus, as some therapists considered it too stressful. Now I can enjoy it again. And I also occasionally seek out crowds (and socializing) without fear of tinnitus.

I’ve had tinnitus for over four years. Over the past few years, I’ve searched tirelessly for the cause, solution, and remedy. I also tried various alternative therapies, since conventional doctors couldn’t help me. When none of that worked and I was searching for a solution again, I came across Roel’s course. I hoped this would at least help it control my life less and drive me less crazy. And it worked. The course gave me new insights and helped me cope better. I still experience tinnitus occasionally, but I’ve learned to accept it better and, as a result, it’s less of a problem. After taking the course, I can at least report that it’s less dominant in my life. I panic less about the tinnitus and I’m less likely to give up because of it. I’ve started running again, which I’d given up for a while because of my tinnitus, as some therapists considered it too stressful. Now I can enjoy it again. And I also occasionally seek out crowds (and socializing) without fear of tinnitus. And when it does bother me again, I know there are also times when it’s less bothersome, and that helps.

I could have registered for insured care, but there was a long wait, and I wanted help immediately because I was devastated. Roel’s course had no wait time and it was created by someone who had tinnitus, which appealed to me. I feel like I now know more about tinnitus than my GP and ENT specialist combined. There were even times when I could barely hear the tinnitus. Roel’s course has been a godsend for me.

I developed tinnitus from loud music at a party. An ENT examination revealed mild hearing loss in my left ear. I could have registered for insured care, but there was a long wait, and I wanted help immediately because I was devastated. I remembered a newspaper article I’d recently read about Roel’s online course. There was no wait time and it was created by someone who had tinnitus, which appealed to me. I’m so glad I made this choice. I feel like I now know more about tinnitus than my GP and ENT specialist combined. There were even times when I could barely hear the tinnitus. Roel’s course has been a godsend for me.

Roel explains in a pleasant way what tinnitus is, how you get it and how to deal with it. It’s unbelievable, but I no longer suffer from tinnitus! I even sleep without a fan to my bed. When, after living perfectly well with tinnitus for 10 years, I suffered a major relapse due to stress, I quickly turned to Roel’s “Still Tinnitus” course. I was back in full flight-or-fight mode, regularly experiencing panic attacks and having a lot of trouble sleeping. Tinnitus had taken over my life again, and I was completely at a loss. What I found particularly important was that Roel speaks from personal experience. He also combines four different methods, each valuable for effective treatment. He regularly reassures you, and the explanations make you feel truly understood. After a few months of taking the course, I’m exercising again, drinking coffee again, and I’m confident enough to travel again. Roel showed me that a normal life with tinnitus is entirely possible, and I’m incredibly grateful to him for that 🙏🏻. In other words, I can highly recommend Roel’s course.

I’m so excited to be taking this course. I started when I’d been suffering from tinnitus and hyperacusis for four months, and this (partly) contributed to burnout. My hyperacusis has now completely disappeared (although it was already decreasing before I started the course, I must say), but my tinnitus was still incredibly bothersome. I was preoccupied with it ALL day long, and I could hear it through everything. I even had panic attacks. I have to say, after the course, the buzzing and ringing in my ears has become much quieter, and even when I hear it, it bothers me less. I was very afraid I wouldn’t succeed because I also have burnout, but Roel assured me it could be a valuable addition. I was skeptical, but nothing could be further from the truth. Roel, thank you so much!

After completing the course, I genuinely feel different. The tinnitus hasn’t magically disappeared, but my relationship with it has changed completely. I feel calmer, less afraid, and much more in control. The sound no longer dominates my thoughts or emotions the way it used to.

I would absolutely recommend this course to others who are struggling with tinnitus. When I first decided to take it, I was feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and constantly focused on the sound. I was looking for a way to cope, not just information, and this course felt like a gentle and practical step forward. I believe my tinnitus was triggered by a combination of stress and emotional overload, which made it harder to ignore and accept. What this course helped me understand is that the sound itself is not the real problem — it’s our reaction to it. After completing the course, I genuinely feel different. The tinnitus hasn’t magically disappeared, but my relationship with it has changed completely. I feel calmer, less afraid, and much more in control. The sound no longer dominates my thoughts or emotions the way it used to. This course gave me reassurance, clarity, and practical tools that helped me move from constant distress to acceptance and relief. It reminded me that healing is possible, even if the sound is still there. Thank you, Roel. You truly helped me.

At the end of 2023, I started Roel’s Still Tinnitus course. I’ve been suffering from tinnitus and ringing in my ears since early 2021. Since 2023, I’ve also been experiencing severe migraines. I completed the course; initially, I did the exercises. However, I find meditation difficult to maintain. Now, at the end of 2024, things are much better. I no longer do the exercises. It’s more a mindset issue. The tinnitus is still there, but it bothers me much less. It’s especially noticeable after waking up. A shower, with the water flowing freely over my head, is good for me then. My migraines are also less frequent and less severe. I’m glad I completed the course. It has brought me peace.

After having tinnitus for over 10 years, my partner referred me to the Still Tinnitus course through a newspaper article. I was quite skeptical of this kind of training because I thought it would just go away, that they would eventually find the cause, and that a miraculous cure would occur. I think I developed tinnitus from excessively loud music, partly from my work as a roadie, and partly from attending all kinds of music events where loud noise is simply part of the experience. It’s very bizarre that this happens just as you’ve resigned yourself to the fact that the ringing isn’t going away. After the free webinar, I thought: oh well, it doesn’t hurt, and luckily I don’t have to sit in a circle telling people how miserable I am. Now, after taking the course, my tinnitus score has already dropped significantly after just one month. I also notice that I stay calmer when I’m having another difficult day. The method works for me. Get used to it. It’s your ringing and it stays with you, but it doesn’t bother you, and you can just get on with your life. Listen to Roel’s story in the masterclass and decide if you agree with his story, and then definitely take the course.

My tinnitus started around the time of a burnout, which was already making me feel worse. It irritated me terribly, and I panicked. Naturally, I searched and found all sorts of things, but nothing helped. After a few weeks, I really noticed a difference. I was finally sleeping more peacefully again, and I could laugh again. Now, two months later, I’m doing the things I enjoy again and I even went to a concert again. Without feeling bad afterward.

The course is well-structured and easy to follow thanks to its step-by-step approach. It begins with an understanding of how tinnitus develops and how you can end up in a vicious cycle that perpetuates the symptoms. It then offers numerous practical tools based on various proven effective methods to break this vicious cycle and (significantly) reduce symptoms. Roel has thoroughly researched the (scientific) literature on this topic and is able to explain insights from this literature in an accessible way. He also responds quickly and comprehensively to email inquiries.

From Fear to Peace. Roel has helped me enormously with his course and coaching conversation by clearly explaining and providing insight into the origin of tinnitus and its recovery. A month ago, tinnitus developed due to a stressful period, I had reached a point of panic and did not know how to deal with it. After reading a lot on “dr. google” of all kinds of negative messages and a lot of nonsense, despair really struck. I did not expect that the Still Tinnitus course would help me get rid of my fear so quickly. Now that peace has returned, I can work on my recovery with confidence. I will certainly repeat the course a number of times in the coming months, that gives me peace. Roel, my compliments for the design of the course and your great expertise in the field of Tinnitus.

When I realized that the whistling sound in my left ear would not go away, I panicked. I went to the doctor four times, but I ‘had to learn to live with it’. The ENT specialist could not do anything for me either. Fortunately, I came into contact with Roel’s course soon after. I finally felt taken seriously and everything he said was very recognizable. Now, there are still moments when I hear that noise in my head, but there are mainly hours and days when I actually hear nothing at all.

I think I got tinnitus due to a combination of factors. My hearing has deteriorated a little. The hearing test showed that I can no longer hear certain high tones well. But I think the most important factor was stress. When I realized that the whistling sound in my left ear would not go away, I panicked. I went to the doctor four times, but I ‘had to learn to live with it’. The ENT specialist could not do anything for me either. Fortunately, I came into contact with Roel’s course soon after. I can only say that this was my salvation. I finally felt taken seriously and everything he said was very recognizable. It is important to do the course with a lot of dedication. I carried out all the assignments very seriously, I started meditating and relaxed more (walking, cycling). After a few months I noticed an improvement, especially because I understood how the process worked (better to get used to the sound than to fight it, accept it, confront it, etc. etc.). I have also followed Roel’s ‘follow-up course’ and feel that I am on the right track. Now, there are still moments when I hear that noise in my head, but there are mainly hours and days when I actually hear nothing at all. I would like to say to everyone who has tinnitus: keep practicing, don’t give up: there really is something you can do about it! Roel’s course really makes the difference!

Suddenly, tinnitus was back. OMG, I thought. There it is again! I’d heard of it before, but I thought it would pass me by. But no. I immediately googled to see if I could do anything about it. Finally, I found the Still Tinnitus course. The reviews seemed reliable, and in the meantime, I also contacted Roel by email. I decided to buy the course. I recently completed it. What I learned from it is that I can manage my tinnitus better. Of course, I still hear it sometimes, but most of the time I’m unaware of it.

Last year on June 20th I suddenly had a very loud ringing in my ear in the evening that did not go away. A few days later I also got a ringing in my other ear (a different pitch). Last year on June 20th I suddenly had a very loud ringing in my ear in the evening that did not go away. A few days later I also got a ringing in my other ear (a different pitch). The first reaction was real panic, especially after I started googling. After a few days in which I really thought I would never be able to learn to live with it, I came across Roel’s website. I immediately bought the course and started working with it. I noticed that the explanation and the exercises slowly reduced the fear. I also noticed that stress is a major trigger for me. I am now 1.5 years further, the tinnitus has not gone away but there are days that I only notice it when it is very quiet. There are also days that the tinnitus is more clearly present, then I know that I have to take it easy. Because I had days when the tinnitus was less present, I gained confidence that it could also get better. I called those my good days. In the beginning I had them occasionally, when the tinnitus increased again my first reaction was fear again. But I told myself you also have good days, they will surely come again. I also picked up my course folder with assignments again to find peace and trust. All in all a long journey in which acceptance and in my case learning to listen to your body played a big role. Roel’s course was a ray of light when my world looked dark for a while and really helped me.

I started this course because I discovered I had tinnitus in August 2024. After the course, things are much better. The course helped me think about tinnitus differently and stay as positive as possible or have neutral thoughts. he cost really shouldn’t be a problem, as you get a lot in return. The course is also very easy to follow. You can do something every day or a few times a week for a few hours—it’s truly ideal!

I started this course because I discovered I had tinnitus in August 2024. It’s difficult to pinpoint the cause; I think it’s a combination of stress (pressure and never saying no) and hearing damage (due to festivals, even though I’ve been wearing earplugs for years), but it could also be something else, such as damage to the nerve pathways. After the course, things are much better. It gave me a lot of insight into what tinnitus is, what the possible cause is, and how to deal with it. Most importantly, it showed me that it’s not dangerous, that you can live with it perfectly well, and that you can still do everything you did before you had tinnitus. I also really appreciated the app with the masking sounds and meditations. In addition, the many tips given were very welcome and really helpful. The course helped me think about tinnitus differently and stay as positive as possible or have neutral thoughts. I would definitely recommend the course. The cost really shouldn’t be a problem, as you get a lot in return. The course is also very easy to follow. You can do something every day or a few times a week for a few hours—it’s truly ideal!

I probably developed tinnitus from medication. I was very negative about it. Thanks to the course, the tinnitus is manageable, and I know it’s not dangerous. I still have a ways to go, but I’m convinced it will be okay. Roel! Thanks so much. Erik.

For me personally, the most important element of the course was Roel’s clear explanation of how tinnitus works. That helped me enormously in the subsequent steps showing how you can influence your own experience of tinnitus through acceptance, habituation, and recovery.

This course put me on the right path to enjoying life again. Last summer, I was diagnosed with tinnitus, and from that moment on, I started doing all the things that were making it worse. Thanks to this clear and concise course, I quickly got back on track to work on my recovery. Three months have passed, and I can truly say that I’ve been able to put the tinnitus in perspective, and it’s made a world of difference. I’m doing everything I did before tinnitus again. I sleep fairly normally again, and I’m not really thinking about it during the day. So, in three months, I’ve already achieved much more than I thought I would. When I read Roel’s story, I read a lot of myself back and I thought: nothing tried, nothing gained. The course provides a good insight into the phenomenon itself, how it can arise and how you can work on yourself to reduce the complaints. In any case, it helped me a lot in the first steps on my road to recovery: Yes I can!

Started the still tinnitus course because I suffered a lot from tinnitus and there were huge waiting lists for ENT doctors and tinnitus treatments. So I started this course to bridge the waiting list. The origin of my tinnitus seems to be mainly due to overload due to leading a busy life and not due to hearing damage. The course gave me a lot of insight that led to reassurance and tools to deal with it and reduce the complaints. I definitely recommend the course. The interactive nature, the explanation, the recognizability, the exercises, but certainly also the pleasant and calm appearance of Roel who gives the course a personal character. You can do the course at your own pace and whenever you want. This course should definitely be covered by health insurance, as that would save a lot of money. The Libra course lasted 13 weeks on-site in Eindhoven with a group of about 10 people, meeting once or twice a week for 1.5 hours. Compared to the cost and benefits of the Still Tinnitus course (including an app with helpful tips), it should be approved today. The Libra course had a waiting list of almost a year!

I definitely recommend this course; it helped me tremendously.

Very nice, thank you Roel.

60-Day Risk-Free Guarantee

Try the program without financial stress.

Starting a tinnitus program is an important decision. You should have enough time to genuinely experience whether this structured habituation approach is helpful for you, without feeling financially trapped. If you complete the program, apply the exercises, but feel it isn’t helping you or the online course format isn’t the right approach for you, you will receive a full refund within 60 days of enrollment.

What is required to qualify

Because tinnitus habituation is a gradual process, participants need to actively engage with the program to properly evaluate whether it fits them. To qualify for the guarantee, participants should:

• Complete all the video modules
• Do the exercises in the workbook
• Make a genuine effort to apply the techniques in daily life

This guarantee is based on mutual trust as real progress depends on honest and steady participation.

Important medical note

This program is designed to help participants reduce tinnitus distress and support habituation. While full habituation takes on average 6-18 months, most participants who consistently engage with the program begin noticing positive changes within weeks. As with any treatment, individual results vary and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Why this guarantee exists

Many people with tinnitus have already tried treatments that did not help. You should be able to properly evaluate whether this evidence-based approach feels helpful for you without financial pressure. The goal of this guarantee is to support participants who are ready to actively engage with the program and give the method a fair opportunity to work.

Why 60 days?

With an average time commitment of about one hour per week, the course is designed to be completed over approximately eight weeks (or 60 days). This is why the program includes a 60-day guarantee. By the end of these eight weeks, you will have learned and practiced the core skills that support tinnitus habituation. This does not mean that habituation itself is fully complete at 60 days. Full habituation typically unfolds over several months, often in the range of 6–18 months, as the nervous system gradually adapts. However, most participants notice meaningful psychological relief within these first 60 days, such as reduced anxiety, improved sleep, and a greater sense of control.

What Is Habituation?

Using the power of neuroplasticity.

Habituation is the process by which your brain gradually stops reacting emotionally to tinnitus, so the sound fades into the background and bothers you less and less. This works by using neuroplasticity, the brain’s natural ability to change and adapt. Over time, tinnitus is processed as a neutral, harmless signal rather than a threat that demands constant attention.

Benefits of habituation

  • Less stress and anxiety
  • Better sleep
  • Improved concentration
  • Greater sense of calm and control
  • Re-engage in normal daily life

Habituation is currently the recommended evidence-based approach for reducing tinnitus complaints.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any questions not covered below will be answered during the free webinar.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for people experiencing significant tinnitus distress. In general, they rate their tinnitus 6 out of 10 or higher. It doesn’t matter what kind of sound you hear (for example, ringing, buzzing, high- or low-pitched), or what the suspected cause is (such as hearing loss, stress, illness, or injury). If you choose to apply after the free webinar, your individual situation is reviewed to ensure the program is an appropriate fit. Patients with pulsatile tinnitus (a sound that follows the heartbeat) typically experience less change in the tinnitus sound itself, but often still report reduced anxiety and stress.

Is this only for people who recently got tinnitus?

Our research suggests that people who begin support earlier after the onset of tinnitus often experience improvement sooner. However, many participants in our program have been living with tinnitus for years. As reflected in our reviews, even individuals who have experienced tinnitus for 10 years or more can still benefit from the course. Many of these participants received little effective support early on and learned to cope on their own—often by avoiding the sound, staying constantly distracted, or using masking strategies. These approaches can work for a time, but they may become exhausting or less effective during periods of increased stress, illness, or major life changes such as retirement. At that point, tinnitus-related distress often becomes more noticeable, and people seek help. When you fill in the application form after the free webinar, your situation is carefully reviewed to ensure the program is an appropriate fit for your needs.

Is this only for hearing loss-related tinnitus?

No, it does not matter whether you have severe hearing loss, mild hearing loss, or normal hearing. More than 80% of tinnitus cases have something to do with hearing, but it can also occur in people with clinically normal or excellent hearing. This course is intended for people with tinnitus regardless of how it started. In the course, you will learn evidence-based ways to relate differently to tinnitus, including how patterns of thinking, attention, and emotional responses can increase or reduce tinnitus-related distress. These approaches aim to help you suffer less from tinnitus and make the sound fade into the background. Your hearing level is not a limiting factor for this process. While hearing loss itself cannot always be changed, how tinnitus affects your daily life can be.

Does this work for tinnitus from stress?

Yes, it is very well suited for stress-related tinnitus. Stress often plays a significant role in tinnitus by increasing awareness and distress. For many people, tinnitus begins or worsens during periods of prolonged stress. This course explains how stress and tinnitus interact and introduces practical stress-reduction strategies using CBT and mindfulness. By calming the nervous system and changing habitual response patterns, you’ll be able to break the stress–tinnitus cycle and experience less daily burden from tinnitus.

I’m on a therapy waitlist, should I first complete that?

On the contrary, supporting science indicates that people who begin learning effective tinnitus coping strategies earlier often experience improvement sooner. Starting the course while you are waiting for in-person care can help reduce distress and give you practical tools during that time. Many people develop unhelpful response patterns—such as constant monitoring, avoidance, or fear-based thinking—simply because they haven’t yet been shown alternative approaches. Addressing these patterns earlier can make them easier to change.

I’m already doing something else, can I combine it with this course?

Yes, the Still Tinnitus course can be safely used alongside other forms of care, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based treatments, and audiological care. If you are experiencing high levels of stress or burnout, a combined approach is often helpful. You may choose to use the course to address tinnitus-related distress while also working with a psychologist on stress management, burnout recovery, or relapse prevention. Your physician or ENT specialist may also recommend additional evaluations, treatments, or medications. These can generally be used safely alongside the course, as the program is educational and does not interfere with medical care.

How does Still Tinnitus compare to other treatments?

A side-by-side comparison can be found here.

How long will it take to see results?

If you follow the lessons and practice the exercises consistently, people often begin to notice early improvements within a few weeks—most often as reduced stress, fear, or reactivity to the tinnitus sound. Over time, feelings such as powerlessness, frustration, and anxiety typically lessen gradually rather than all at once. Reaching a stage where tinnitus has little or no impact on daily life (a process known as habituation)—varies from person to person. For many, this process unfolds over approximately 6 to 18 months, depending on individual factors and consistency of practice.

What is the course based on?

This course is grounded in four well-established, evidence-based approaches used in tinnitus care:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) (without sound maskers)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness-based approaches

The Still Tinnitus 5-Step method integrates insights from leading clinical and scientific work by internationally recognized experts, including Dr. Pawel Jastreboff, Dr. Jonathan Hazell, Dr. Laurence McKenna, Dr. James Henry, Dr. Steven Hayes, and mindfulness pioneer Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn.

What will I learn in this course?

In this course, you’ll learn how to significantly reduce the impact tinnitus has on your life by accelerating the process of habituation. Using four evidence-based approaches, you’ll learn how to change your response to tinnitus so it becomes less intrusive, less stressful, and easier to ignore over time. You’ll practice skills that help your nervous system calm down and retrain how tinnitus is processed. As this happens, many people find that tinnitus no longer bothers them and fades into the background.

What’s the advantage of habituation?

Habituation is the process by which your brain gradually stops reacting emotionally to tinnitus, so it fades into the background and bothers you much less. Over time, habituation leads to real-life benefits such as:

  • Less stress and anxiety
  • Better sleep
  • Improved concentration
  • More peace of mind
  • Ability to resume normal daily life

I’m not great with computers, is this for me?

You don’t need to worry about age or technical skills. People between 17 and 83 years old have successfully completed the course. The online platform is designed to be simple and easy to use, even if you’re not very comfortable with technology. And if you do run into any difficulties, email support is available and you’ll receive personal help. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask them during the free webinar.

How does the course work?

After completing your registration, you receive immediate access to a clear, user-friendly course platform. You’ll be able to download your workbook, access the supporting app and follow the course from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. The course is fully online and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. During the access period included with your chosen program, you can revisit lessons and exercises as often as you like, allowing you to move at your own pace and repeat sections whenever needed.

Will I be able to revisit the course?

Yes. Depending on the program you choose, you’ll have unlimited access to the online course for at least two years, with an option to extend access. During this time, you can revisit lessons and exercises as often as you like, at your own pace. Your workbook, notes, and meditation exercises are yours to keep forever.

How long does it take? When does it run?

The full course takes approximately 8 hours to complete in total. It is recommended to spend no more than 1 to 2 hours per week, allowing time for practice and integration. At a pace of about 10 minutes per day, or roughly 1 hour per week, most people complete the course in around 8 weeks. All lessons are pre-recorded and self-paced, so there are no fixed start dates or schedules. You can begin immediately, move through the material at your own pace, pause if needed, and return to it later. After completing the course, you continue applying and practicing what you’ve learned as part of daily life.

We follow strict data security protocols and never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Are you a doctor?

No, I am not a doctor, but an engineer with a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and have specialized training in tinnitus care. I am among a small group of professionals who have received Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) certification from Dr. Pawel Jastreboff. In addition, I have been trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches, including training informed by the work of Dr. Steven Hayes and colleagues. After developing tinnitus myself, I combined these evidence-based approaches with leading research in the field to develop a structured method. This approach has helped me and many others reach a point where tinnitus no longer dominates daily life. Because I live with tinnitus myself, I also understand firsthand how disruptive and distressing it can be, and that perspective informs how the course is designed and taught.
